What it means

The OE error code on an LG washer indicates an 'Outlet Error,' meaning the appliance has failed to drain its water within the factory-specified time limit (typically 10 to 15 minutes). The main control board monitors the water level via the pressure sensor (pressure switch). As the drain pump operates, the water level should drop, changing the air pressure in the air dome hose. If the frequency signal from the pressure sensor does not indicate an empty tub by the end of the drain phase timeout, the board halts the cycle and flags the OE code to prevent flooding and motor burnout. This is strictly a drainage issue, usually stemming from a physical blockage in the drain path or an electrical failure at the drain pump motor. In rare cases, a fouled air dome hose or a failing pressure switch can trick the board into thinking water remains when the tub is actually completely empty.

How to clear / reset

To temporarily clear the OE code, press the Power button to turn off the washer, then unplug the unit for 60 seconds. However, the code will immediately return on the next cycle if the water cannot drain. Before resetting, you must manually drain the tub. Locate the access panel on the bottom left of the front panel. Unclip the small manual drain hose, remove the plug, and drain the water into a shallow pan. Once empty, unscrew the large drain filter (coin trap) and clean out any debris. Reassemble, restore power, and run a 'Spin Only' cycle to verify if the pump engages and the code clears.
